Dane is an energetic and committed educator, who keeps a studio filled with talented students. His students have gone on to earn degrees at some of the most upstanding universities for music. Some of the schools where Dane's students have gone on to matriculate include Berklee College of Music, Northwestern University, Towson University, Lebanon Valley College and Old Dominion University, among others. Dane's students participate in youth orchestras, state and county all-honors orchestras and bands, and also consistently receive a rating of 1's (the highest rating possible) at local and state level solo and ensemble adjudications.


Dane has held previous positions at the Towson University Music Preparatory program, Maryland Performing Arts Institute, Beth T'flioh Dahan Community School Conservatory, and the Musicians Institute of Baltimore, as wells as Cecil College, Suitland High School and Center for the Visual and Performing Arts, and Patapsco High School and Center for the Arts. Dane has taught the percussion section of the Greater Baltimore Youth Orchestra and Maryland Youth Symphony Orchestra.


Dane is currently the director of percussion studies at Morgan State University where he teaches applied percussion lessons, percussion methods, as well as directing the percussion ensemble. Notably, Dane has had an article published in the magazine Percussive Notes entitled Teaching Percussion to Students with Special Needs. Dane is a proud member of both the Vic Firth and Remo educational teams.
